The 4th Avenue Streetscaping Project improved ADA accessibility, expanded bicycle and pedestrian facilities, improved traffic operations, and enhanced aesthetics and safety between the new train station site and downtown Coatesville. The project initiated transit-oriented development and promotes area-wide revitalization.
Streetscaping along the four-block stretch of 4th Avenue between Fleetwood Street at the train station and Lincoln Highway (Route 30) was completed in coordination with the train station development project. In addition to repaving 4th Avenue, the streetscaping initiative included:
Construction began in September 2019 and was completed by June 2020.
The project was led by the City of Coatesville Redevelopment Authority with funding from PennDOT and the Federal Transit Administration.
