This $36 million project is the first of three proposed phases of major improvements to develop Paoli Station into a fully ADA-compliant, modernized, intermodal passenger station. Phase I work includes:
Construction began in February 2017 and is expected to be completed by mid-2019. Structural steel is in place for the north, south, and center towers, as well as the pedestrian overpass. Brickwork was completed on the south tower in August 2018 and is in progress on the north tower. Masonry work for the center tower began in October. Other visible progress includes the center platform canopy and window frame installation on the pedestrian overpass and south tower.
Amtrak is leading the project with additional funding by PennDOT, the Federal Railroad Administration, the Federal Transit Administration, and SEPTA.
