A four-day community workshop was held Oct. 24 through Oct. 27, 2011 where members of the public worked with the Plan the Keystone team to develop concepts for an alternative train station. The public also provided input on locations for wayfinding, streetscaping and a vision for the borough. Prior to that, interviews were held with stakeholders including community leaders, residents, and business owners, to gain a better understanding of concerns and opportunities within the Borough. Four main themes emerged from the workshop and stakeholder discussions:
- Improve the station.
- Leverage station investment to improve the Downingtown economy.
- Connect the station to the downtown and the region.
- Improve access and mobility in Downingtown.
