A series of one-on-one and focus group meetings with MSMJ and community stakeholders was held on September 21 and 22, 2009. Participants included Main Street business owners and property owners, representatives from the five churches along Main Street, restaurant owners, municipal entities, and others interested in the future of Main Street. While the dialogue covered a wide range of topics, four main themes emerged from the discussion:
- Improve the train station.
- Connect the station to Main Street.
- Improve the Main Street experience.
- Define and promote the Mount Joy Brand.
